Dom Perignon 1999

Name: Dom Perignon
Vintage: 1999
Varietal: Chardonnay; Pinot Meunier; Pinot Noir
Winery: Moët & Chandon
Region: France > Champagne
Price: $133.18
SnoothRank: 4/5

ymacleod's Rating: 3.5/5
ymacleod's Review: Honestly, a little disappointing for me. It had tremendous complexity and depth, and in particular, it tasted refreshingly of the sea, but there was a lingering hint of bitterness. The bitterness, though not altogether unpleasant, was an unwelcome surprise.

As posted on Snooth

Name: Jacquesson Grand Vin Signature Brut Rose
Vintage: 1993
Varietal: Pinot Noir; Chardonnay
Winery: Jacquesson Et Fils
Region: France > Champagne
Price: $116.08
SnoothRank: 4/5

ymacleod's Rating: 4.5/5
ymacleod's Review: Lovely color, but the most remarkable thing was, quite simply, the bubbles. They were very fine and astoundingly numerous, as if there were some invisible whirlpool jet in the glass itself. Unfortunately, it was quite a few years ago, so I do not remember much other than it was delightful to drink because of the bubbles.

As posted on Snooth

Name: Louis Roederer Cristal Champagne Brut
Vintage: 2000
Varietal: Champagne Blend
Winery: Louis Roederer
Region: France > Champagne
Price: $229.99
SnoothRank: 4.5/5

ymacleod's Rating: 5/5
ymacleod's Review: Very full and smooth to the point of being almost...silky. It was quite sweet, actually, and not unlike a very light honey. The word bright comes to mind. While certainly a fantastic champagne, I would not be able to tell the difference in quality between this and a bottle of Dom at half this price.

As posted on Snooth

Pleasant bubbles and a light, consistent flavor throughout with hints of strawberry and blackberry.

As posted on Snooth

Name: Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin Champagne Brut Rosé
Vintage: NV
Varietal: Champagne Blend
Winery: Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin
Region: France > Champagne
Price: $61.00
SnoothRank: 4/5

ymacleod's Rating: 3.5/5
ymacleod's Review: Very mellow and palatable, with a nice tart/fruity finish, but the "middle" was simply...missing, for lack of a better term. Bubbles did not seem particularly long-lasting or effervescent.

As posted on Snooth

The finish was a nice contrast - quite dry and crisp. It's simple, but pleasant and very palatable.

As posted on Snooth
