Clos du Bois Merlot 2003

Name: Clos du Bois Merlot
Vintage: 2003
Varietal: Merlot
Winery: Clos du Bois
Price: $16.24
SnoothRank: 3.5/5

dolorosa's Rating: 3/5
dolorosa's Review: This was, for me, the gateway into red wines. It's smooth and incredibly easy to drink, with a nice finish and great flavor. I've since moved on and found new favorites, but the Clos du Bois is still a nice bottle to have every once in a while.

As posted on Snooth

Name: Gnarly Head Old Vine Zinfandel
Vintage: 2005
Varietal: Zinfandel
Region: USA > California
Price: $10.49
SnoothRank: 3.5/5

dolorosa's Rating: 3/5
dolorosa's Review: Gnarly Head is a nice, simple wine that makes for a good night cap or an easy to drink introduction to someone who may not know whether or not they like wine. Relatively smokey with an easy finish. Worth its $10 price tag but not much more, IMO.

As posted on Snooth

The flavors and jammy-ness are unrivaled and make for a perfect glass of wine.

As posted on Snooth

It's jammy, well-balanced, and simply wonderful to drink. $40 is often a splurge for me at this point in my life but this is a splurge well worth it.

As posted on Snooth

The flavor is robust and well-balanced and the bottle can usually be found in the mid-$20's at BevMo. Definitely worth the cost.

As posted on Snooth

Root 1 Cabernet Sauvignon 2006

Name: Root 1 Cabernet Sauvignon
Vintage: 2006
Varietal:
Winery: Root: 1
Region: South America > Chile
Price: $10.79
SnoothRank: 3.5/5

dolorosa's Rating: 4/5
dolorosa's Review: Considering it only costs $10 at World Markets, this is a really great wine. Out of the many bottles I've bought, both for myself and as gifts, I've only had one bad bottle. And, not that it affects the taste or palatability of the wine, but the bottle is easily one of the coolest around.

As posted on Snooth
