xanthan's Review: Doc Loosen's American Riesling - is a fantastic kabinet, trending a little drier with lovely floral notes. Applicable for a lot of meals, this is my "go to" wine for spicy Asian food. If you like rieslings, this is a must.

xanthan's Review: This is a lovely sparkling wine made from Brachetto grapes grown around the town of Acqui in the Italian Piedmont. Bright cherry red in color, this Brachetto has a lively, zingy tease of bubbles, with fresh aromas of raspberries and strawberries. It lovely as an appartif, or as a dessert wine which will pair well with chocolate. Its a low alcohol wine (~5.5%) and would, I think, make a very good summer wine for barbecue.

xanthan's Review: I am enchanted by this wine! I'm a fan of Spanish sparkling wines and find the d'Abbatis Brut to have a mildly biscuity, somewhat toasty element on the nose - then the wine is quite dry on the palate. The wine is made of somewhat older vines of the local variety Parellada providing quite a different taste from California and French Champagne. It is lovely.

xanthan's Review: I'm quite fond of this Riesling. This particular vintage is expensive, but many other vintages are far more reasonably priced. This wine is light, bright, tangy. When serving it a dinner party, guests found delicate hints of green apple and lime flavors very appealing. For those not familiar with the wine maker, Ernst Loosen (it's pronounced Low-zen) is a the dean of German Rieslings, a notably eccentric and celebrated wine maker and it is a coup for Château Ste. Michelle to partner with him to make exceptionally good wine.

xanthan's Review: I've been delighted with this delightful cab which is rich and deep for a young wine. Mellow tannins, rich but not to pronounce fruit with a cherry/berry overtone and a very lovely finish.

xanthan's Review: At this age, one would expect a Clos Du Val Cab to be exceptional and this one is...though don't let it age too much longer. A deep purple in color, rich aroma and deep luxurious tase of dark fruit and herbs....just a hint of toast and a long, lingering finish.
