D9sus4's Review: Very dense, rich, CDuPape style Rhone wine. Black fruit, mushrooms, rosemary, and good acidity with strong tannins. Should age well. Very good wine for the money.

D9sus4's Review: Tried this in October 2009 at a wine tasting of mostly CduPape wines and it was my favorite of 12 wines.. Although it is not a CDP as it is from Rasteau which is a Côtes-du-Rhône-Villages, it is still from the same region and tasted like a CDP should taste, with lots of black cherry, tannin, and that earthy, mushroomy taste and smell. It's also organically grown. This is a great wine for the money.

D9sus4's Review: Wonderful, well-balanced, full bodied Chardonnay from an old respected Russian River vineyard. Maybe it's because there is an actual Dutton family member involved in the winemaking that this wine is so nearly perfect. Not too much oak, not too buttery, not too anything... it's just right. Fruit forward with some apple and light apricot flavor. Tried it first at a Chardonnay only wine tasting in July, 2009 where it beat out 17 other Chardonnays including some that cost twice as much. Tried it again at the winery in August, 2009. Perfect both times.

D9sus4's Review: Tried this wine at the winery August,2009. Has all the Stag's Leap characteristics of smooth tannins and rich, black, ripe fruit. This winery is on the Silverado trail between Chimney Rock and Stag's Leap Wineries. The best part is, this wine sells for half of what it's neighbor's wines sell for on average. A real bargain from a premium wine district.

D9sus4's Review: Tried this at the tasting room in Napa Valley in August 2009. It was the best value for a Howell Mountain Cabernet I have found anywhere. Has all of the concentrated mountain grown flavor you would expect from a Howell Mtn. Cab. Well balanced, loads of black fruit flavors, no handicaps. At $75 a bottle, it's a steal for a wine from this area.

D9sus4's Review: A very fine Zin from a relatively unknown winery. Lots of jammy black currant and fruit forward. This is not one of your mass-produced big winery type wines. It's a real wine made by a small production winery. Get some while you can.

D9sus4's Review: Tried this at a Chateauneuf-Du-Pape wine tasting in October 2008. Best of 14 wines tried that evening including CduP's costing twice as much. Dark and rich with concentrated fruit, but not overly ripe. Should age well, but drinkable now if let breath for an hour or more.
